Park Hyun Min (Underwear Band guitarist) debuted his solo project Ninaian with the release of EP For a Little Cruise. All instrumental ambient, post-rock-ish music.

Even now I don’t know what the shoegaze genre is, but I do know post-rock and Ninaian is something very special. Most of my post-rock or even math-rock music comes from Japan, but For A Little Cruise has dethroned Japan as the keepers of the genre.

For A Little Cruise may only have seven tracks, and could remind people of Apollo 18 or 프렌지 (Frenzy); but this album is more impressive. Rather than have songs that sound like they are barely holding back the aggression, Ninaian delves deep into slower, melodic songs that sound like they could continue forever.

I usually never listen through a release in one sitting, preferring to break up the release into a couple listens, but For A Little Cruise grabs attention through its instrumentation, arrangements, and beauty of the music.

Find this album because it’s an important one for the genre.

Can't say too much about this band. They are from Korea and play decent post rock. Give it a listen. The album is called Nein Songs and gathers 9 tracks in total. Those already familiar with Frenzy will likely also recognize many of the songs: Apollo 11 was previously released on the 3rd Live Club Bbang compilation and others have been shared on MySpace previously.

from the myspace page : We have been friends since each of our bandmates’ bands used the same practice space in 2000. Then, 3 years ago 5 people, Goguma, Jaewook, Yang, Younghoon and Changhyun, started the band first. A year later, our media graphics part (Red Jellyfish) and engineer (Haksoo) joined us. So, that’s the present make-up of Glittering Blackness,Fall.
