Hailing from the sultry metropolitan landscape of Austin, TX, Explosions In The Sky are some of the most sincere folks you will ever meet. Aside from being nice guys, they play some of the most passionate, powerful instrumental music you will ever hear. Equal parts romance and tragedy, their beautiful melodies have the tendency to ignite into head-spinning walls of noise. Easily one of the most intense live bands ever, their sound proves to be every bit as triumphant as their name implies.

Remember how fun it was to say out Spoon’s Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga ten times fast? Well, here’s another drinking game for you: Explosions of the Sky will return with their fifth album, titled Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, on April 26 via Temporary Residence Ltd. Recorded at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas with John Congleton and produced by the band, the six-track effort is the Texas-based quartet’s first full length studio effort since 2007′s All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone. The record was mixed by Congleton at Austin, TX’s Public Hi Fi studio and features artwork by longtime visual collaborator Esteban Rey.

Explosions in the Sky will support the release with extensive touring throughout 2011. So far, they’ve already announced an April 6th date for the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City, as well as a tour of the U.K. and Europe in May.

This is their fourth album, and I love it because it runs like a musical story. I've always loved Explosions In The Sky for the fact that they have no vocalis, but can simply speak through their beautiful melodies and compositions.

2007 - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone

Download

Bonus Disc of remixes

Tracklist :

1. The Birth And Death Of The Day
2. Welcome, Ghosts
3. It's Natural To Be Afraid
4. What Do You Go Home To?
5. Catastrophe And The Cure
6. So Long, Lonesome

Bonus Disc Tracklist :

1. The Birth And Death Of The Day (JESU Mix)
2. Welcome, Ghosts (ADEM Mix)
3. It's Natural To Be Afraid (The Paper Chase Mix)
4. What Do You Go Home To? (Mountains Mix)
5. Catastrophe And The Cure (Four Tet Mix)
6. So Long, Lonesome (ELUVIUM Mix)

Their latest album. Including bonus disc of remixes. In many ways, the album resembles the band's previous work since it does not deviate from their style of lengthy crescendos and soaring melodies. However, there is more maturity and diversity from track to track. A few songs are dominated by heavy distortion and fierce drumming while other melodies are soft and piano-driven.
