Hailing from Indiana, Metavari balance their Midwestern sensibilities with an eager desire to create music that is consistently breaking up their own new ground. Metavari are an instrumental rock-trio who combine nuances of both electronic music and post-rock. The contrast of undeniably digital elements like laptop programming along side organic rock arrangements and vintage equipment create a multi-layered landscape of sound that has given the act national attention. The band formed in the winter of 2006 and since then has self-released their debut EP, Ambling EP, scored original music for a short film shot in Washington, DC called Casualty of the Promiseland, wrote original songs in three television commercials for a regional hospital, performed remixes and original arrangements to the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album for a near sold-out audience at Fort Wayne's Embassy Theatre and toured throughout the Midwest and East Coast.

Metavari has shared the stage with notable acts in their genre such as Unwed Sailor, Timbre Cierpke, Yndi Halda, El Ten Eleven, Lymbyc Systym and This Will Destroy You. The band is currently in the studio writing and recording their debut full-length LP to be release in the beginning of 2009.

Metavari is an instrumental post-rock band from Indiana. Formed in 2006, songs were piecemealed by airmail between the members of the band who lived in Indiana and a remaining member who was living in the Far East. The band recorded bits and pieces of ideas and slowly formed songs over the course of several months. Combined with their use of digital programming, Metavari experiments with sonic textures, self-manufactured tones and vintage equipment to develop a style that is purely organic and undeniably digital.

Metavari debuted on July 6th, 2007. 180 people watched them perform at Fort Waynes Public Library. Their set was accompanied by a screen and projector that ran original short films synced to each song. Metavari has since brought the videos to every show theyve played, projecting them onto a 100 sq ft backdrop and spilling the light onto the stage. To date, Metavari has scored original music for a short film in Washington, DC, written three original songs in three television commercials for a regional hospital and recently finished a live performance of remixes and original arrangements/interpretations of the Beach Boys Pet Sounds album, called ...And the way they feel.
