Wembly Shadwell is an independent experimental band from Greenville, IL. Described as “Eastern-flavoured post-rock that walks the line between familiar and unique,” by Andrew Hartwig of SputnikMusic.com, they are characterized by eccentric acoustic guitar, electric guitar with strong melodies, prominent bass lines, creative drum beats, experimental use of noise, and hauntingly beautiful vocals. Wembly makes use of varying dynamics evoking strong emotions with long instrumental movements that are part arranged and part improvised. Their influences range from modern post-rock and experimental, classical music, and religious canticles to mythology and various indigenous cultures.
Wembly Shadwell released their first recording, The Shapeshifter EP on February 23, 2007 - a 2 song, 25 minute EP split in to 6 tracks.
Wembly released their first full length album, Pieta on February 15, 2008
