Tracklist :

1. Embedding the Moss
2. Ephemeral
3. Geometry of Murder (originally written by Earth)

Rising from the ashes of the band Tusk, the instrumental post-metal outfit Pelican formed in Chicago, 2001, by guitarists Trevor de Brauw and Laurent Lebec with sibling rhythm section Larry Herweg and Bryan Herweg (drums and bass, respectively).

Owing a great debt to pioneering forefathers Neurosis, and often compared to Boston’s Isis, and Sweden’s Cult of Luna, Pelican were initially signed to Hydra Head Records (whose head, Aaron Turner, is a member of Isis).

After making their debut with an eponymous self-titled four-song EP “Pelican” in 2003, Pelican expanded their sound with 2004’s critically acclaimed “Australasia”. In 2005 Pelican released the “March Into the Sea” EP (featuring the original 20 minutes version), followed by, arguably, their most accomplished record to date, “The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw”. “City Of Echoes” was released June 5th, 2007.

Ephemeral is piece of three songs and 20 minutes introducing a heavier, darker, more riff-based Pelican for 2009 on this vinyl-only release. Earth cover "Geometry Of Murder" actually features Earth man Dylan Carlson on guitar!

Tracklist :

Dr Doom
Where we’re Going we don’t Need Roads
We Have Destroyed The Robot Professor
And This is Our Victory Dance
Farewell, my Concubine
Girl-on-Girl

"We are io.
Our music can be best desribed as combinations of the words post, metal, math, rock using as many of each word as you wish, in any order that you wish. If we had dream jobs we would be either samurais, timelords or mountains.
Tom used to play bass but left to forfill his dream of full time squid hunter. James took his place but his love of dropping beats led him to places where only dub could step. Tom played bass again and helped us write some more tunes as everyone knows that squid season is not in the summer.
Don't feed us after midnight, we turn into hellbeasts."

Jesu's sound is heavily layered and textured, drawing from and incorporating an eclectic mix of influences, ranging from ambient music, post-metal and drone doom, to shoegazing, downtempo and industrial music. Their recent releases have been described as "avant-pop" and avant-garde doom.

Why Are We Not Perfect, is a CDEP that will feature the Jesu songs originally only available on the Eluvium split vinyl album, as well as new two new remixes. Daymare will release the album in Japan, with an additional third remix not available on the American release.
